| BOUQUET |
Dark spiced raspberry jam and cloves with just a touch of sweet vanilla / caramel oak. |
| PALATE |
A wine of moderate palate weight with generous, forward spiced fruit - reminiscent of mulled wine spice mix (without the sugar). Integrated, gently grainy tannins coat the palate while juicy grenache berry fruits fill the mouth, all balanced by clean acid and soft savoury notes. |
| GENERAL |
A slight departure in style for us, the 2006 comprises significantly less shiraz than the previous releases and approximately 15% of the grenache spent 12 months in new oak barrels. This gentle oaking adds another layer of complexity and depth to the wine without compromising primary fruit intensity or character. |
| SERVE |
A great wine to match with a variety of foods; gentle enough not to override more delicate dishes but with enough grunt to keep most red wine lovers happy. Try it with anything from pizza to pasta to Mediterranean fish stew or just whack out some salami, cheese and olives and tuck in! |
