BOUQUET

A lifted, sweetly fruit driven bouquet of juicy plum, mulberries with some floral notes - violets and crushed rose petals.

PALATE

More dark plum and juicy berry fruit, balanced by savoury hints of black olives, subtle menthol and oak spice. The tannins are moderate, yet firm, gently gripping in the mouth. This is an elegant, balanced wine of medium weight with good acidity indicating medium term cellar potential.

GENERAL

Structure! Juicy fruit flavours brought into line by a whack of natural acid and firm grape tannin - none of that soft, broad stuff here! Picked a little less ripe in 2008 to beat the heatwave but with no less flavour!

SERVE

A great drink in its youth, love this with pepper steak pie and fluffy butter puff pastry.
