Lifted florals on the nose, all pretty peach blossom and some tropical passionfruit invites the drinker in.

PALATE

There is a lovely slight spritz in the mouth and alongside the candied lemon, lime notes there is a sherbet tickle. The sweetness builds in the mouth, but fresh acid ensures a clean, light finish.

GENERAL

We are loving having a wine in the range that thumbs its nose at those ‘serious’ wine people – nothing too pompous or self important about this little beauty. The 2011 season was notoriously cool and damp, problematic for some varieties but great for our Rieslings where chasing acid is paramount! Fermentation was stopped based as much on sensory assessment as lab analysis, so the 2011 LUCILLE carries more sugar this year, balanced by zesty natural acidity.

SERVE

As a low alcohol style you can feel free to indulge over summer lunches – the sweetness proves a great balance to spicy asian flavours and summer fruits.
