Whole Lotta Love

2010 Clare Valley Rosé

WINES

David Mavor

GRAPE VARIETIES

91% Grenache
9% Shiraz

REGION

100% Clare Valley

COLOUR

Almost deep pink, glossy toffee apple red.

BOUQUET

Heady, luscious fresh berry fruit, hints of confectionary, strawberries and musk. The nose is light, lifted and enticing.

PALATE

Surprisingly weighty in the mouth, (reflecting a deceptive ripeness) - there is a voluptuousness to the texture of this wine. Just perceptible sweetness complements a rolling barrage of fresh, forward, light berries and musk rounding out with rose petal florals in the mouth.

GENERAL

We found that our Grenache held its acid well in the 2010 season, allowing for slightly later picking and more generous fruit profile. Cold soaking for 48 hours is sufficient for colour extraction and the wine is treated to a long, slow, cool fermentation to retain maximum primary fruit freshness.

SERVE

Try this with a round of mixed sushi and sashimi for a stunning Spring light lunch or go for the old favourite - smoked salmon, cream cheese and caper white-bread sandwiches.
