Inviting and complex aromatics welcome you into this wine; brambly, leafy notes backed up by deep dark fruit with subtle spice and char interplay on the nose. There is a deceptive density to this wine’s aroma that hints at what lies beyond….
With leather and wood on the nose, it is aptly named! Dark fruit flavours of blood plums and blackcurrants and a depth of flavour from oak integration that lifts rather than overpowers. This vintage typifies Clare Valley and all it has to offer.
It’s a dark and brooding little beast, with subtle integration and balanced fruit; juicy dark fruit flavours of blood plums and blackcurrants. There are persistent, mouthcoating tannins and balanced oak that lifts rather than overpowers this wine. This vintage typifies Clare Valley and all it has to offer -a wine that will be hard to put down and will continue to find its stride in the months and years to come.
This wine defines charisma! Juicy plum and dark cherry fruits combine with licks of mint and fennel that overlay a slatey-granite earthiness. It’s a deep, dark, dangerously intense cabernet with integrated tannins and dense dark fruits wound up in savoury spice.
A rich creaminess sits up front and that briar, spice and darkest berries continue in-line in the palate. Nothing prickly about the tannin structure though; they have benefited from being afforded extra time in oak and sit like gentle grape dust in the mouth.
