Winemaker - Marnie Roberts
Grape Variety - 100% Viognier
Region - 100% Watervale, Clare Valley
Colour - White Straw
Bouquet - An early harvest wine that shows pretty floral notes of Jasmin and white peach
Palate - Minimal intervention with this wine ensures that the mouthfeel of this wine is soft, balanced, integrated and appealing. Stone fruit and honeydew melon on the finish are complemented by natural acid and retained natural sugars. Slightly on the sweeter side, this is an extremely pretty, delicate and approachable wine. Hints of apricot flesh on the finish indicate the variety used for this wine.
General - Picked in the vineyard at 10 baume allowed us to maintain the natural acid and have some lovely bright fruit characters of red apple and Melon. A slow, cool ferment retained freshness and an early stop at fermentation allowed us to keep the natural balance of sugar and acid. No fining and no additions is a tip of the hat to the quality of the fruit.
Serve with - A delicate and balanced wine that will complement any dish and any day. But we recommend drinking chilled with some friends while enjoying a platter of Spanish Jamon, figs and washed rind cheese.
